Hate

Despair and loathing
Fuels hate as gasoline fuels a fire
Clouds the mind similar to smoke filling a burning home
Hate lingers at the tongue,
Cuts with the sharpness of a knife,
Leaves no clean cut,
But the scares of a serrated edge,
Hate burns through the skin,
Straight to the heart, damaging anything in its path
Camouflage for the coward,
Hiding place for the weak,
Reserved for the most spineless,
Those afraid to love
Those afraid of compassion,
Sympathy, empathy
Gives the scoundrel motivation
brings down the dreamer, the achiever
Hate steals the bravery of the hero,
Breaks down the ambition of a conqueror
Sets the mind of a enthusiast alight with torment, agony,
as fire to a forest,
Hate,
Lands you in the darkest of places,
Leaves you searching for the light,
Binds you like the iron bars of a jail cell,
Padlocked, with key thrown aside
Looking for an open escape,
But hate
Provides no escape,
Leaves no getaway…
Steals all hope for departure
Bringing your end…
