I remember the day you died
I remember that day because on that day I cried
I was In my car scrolling through my Instagram when I saw your picture and It said RIP
My first thought was "You gotta be kidding me"
I called up Dione and he confirmed that It was true
Then I remember being overwhelmed with a feeling of not knowing what to do
I mean how could that happen to you?
A massive heart attack and you were only 23??
That's some straight bullshit because you were healthier than me
One of many moments when I could say that life Isn't fair
But I'd be preaching to the choir about that because I already know that life doesn't care
Life Just takes people you love and you're Just supposed to keep on living
That's so messed up but life's a game and you gotta play with the cards you were given
It's been almost 2 years since you've died
So that means It's been about 2 years since I last cried
I went to your funeral and It was very nice
Everyone from school was there and even your work mates too
But I couldn't look at you In the casket though, that's one thing I couldn't do
Next the pastor gave a speech about you
Too many people are on this planet Just taking up space but the pastor explained all the things you had going on like you were In some type of race
You had a lot going on man
Things that actually made your life meaningful and worthwhile
I still live with the side effects of that day like It's hard to smile
And you've been dead for quite awhile but I still can't seem to do It
But pain can make you stronger but only If you fight through It
And Ima do It
I don't even know what Im trying to say I'm Just thinking out loud
But I do know If you saw me now you'd probably be proud
I never use to write when you were alive so I guess you could say this Is my new hobby
But anyways I gotta go man
