Note to Self

The man who kicked the chair away
Was not the coward that they portrayed
It could not be classed as a selfish act
No one else involved not a promise driven pact
No one saw it coming
They normally never do
Too busy living selfish lives
Too lazy to even try
and see his crippled status
Under his veil of sadness
The shock that they would feel is fake
The tears that they would shed
would only be for themselves
way to fuckin late for
coulda, woulda, shoulda
you through your ignorance
and lack of human kindness created
the man who kicked the chair away

The man who kicked the chair away
Didn’t leave a written note to explain
He thought of those he’d leave behind
They just hadn’t loved him enough
If they had no chair would have been kicked
There was no heart felt empathy
They didn’t see the broken man
The broken man inside the man
The one they used to love
They chose to ignore his pain
preferring that he just pulled himself together
the man had finally pulled himself together
he looked at all his sadness
his lack of dignity
he confronted his demons
they were human and close
he contemplated his loneliness
sometimes its better to be alone
he considered the continuation
of his current state of being
what would be the fuckin point
The final solution came
Without a written note
he put the rope around his throat
Cried a single tear
and not showing any fear
to everyone’s dismay
He kicked the chair away
