Chess

It started with the Pawns
A black one took a white one
A white one took a black one
The white knight popped out
To have a peek at the pawns
He was taken roughly
By a black pawn

The black bishop, being a bishop
Took three pawns in succession
Showing no guilt or remorse
The white bishop being holy
Also took a young pawn, then
Tried to take the black bishop
The black queen in anger
Would have none of it
And she took the white bishop
Out of the game

The black queen was still angry
Her move had been rather rash
And she had exposed herself
To the other white bishop
Who moved across the board?
To take her from behind
He hadn’t really thought this out
And was swiftly taken
By the black rook

The black knight winked
And smiled at the white queen
Avoiding the sight of the white king
She longingly winked back
The suspicious white king
Sent the bishop and the knight
To take the black knight
But they were no match
For his cunning and guile
The white queen glowed
Watching the black knight in action

The two black rooks
At the behest of the black knight
Slowly sneaked up on the white king
And checked him away from his queen
The white queen sees the approach
Of the handsome black knight
With passion he moves
An L shape signifying his love
He amorously signifies his intent
She gives a knowing wink
He takes her, tenderly
But is in turn taken
Off the board by the white knight

Black and white is
Not allowed to mix in this game
They are enemies
And despite the possibilities
Of mixing as one
The love of the black knight
For the white queen
Was not to be
