Image for the poem Vessel

Vessel

I didn't see his face
felt the touch
desire to passion
the love sounds flowed

equal
proportionate
amplified

back and forth.

I didn't see his face
I imagined his expressions

expressive
determined
yearning

feeding the famine
gratifying my vessel

body
soul
spirit

uniting
holding on

relentlessly
working for us
for those precious few moments
losing our way

lost together

one lyrical harmony

shared

I didn't see his face
But I will
when my mind allows
imagine it all
just as it will be
