After the Office Party
The morning,
After the office party.
I’d drunk,
More than I should have.
Now,
Awake,
In a bedroom,
I didn’t recognize.
Judging by the curtains on the window,
The comforter thrown on the floor,
And the bra in the doorway to the bathroom,
It was a woman’s bed I was in,
But whose?
I was uncovered,
Undressed,
Naked,
Next to a still damp,
Very large,
Wet spot,
That smelled,
Of sex.
There was lipstick,
On my cock,
Bright red,
It was,
And smeared.
The place was,
Quiet.
Got up noisily,
To let her,
Whomever she was,
Know I was awake.
Still.
Quiet,
No one.
Found my pants,
Shirt,
Shoes,
No underwear.
Car key in my pocket,
Wallet too.
Went into the living room.
Empty.
Kitchen.
Empty.
My coat on the chair,
By the door.
Note taped to the door,
“I’ve kept your underwear,
Call it a fetish,
If you like.”
“I prefer to think of them as,
A memento.”
“See you at work Monday.”
As I left,
I saw a business letter,
Looked like a cable TV bill,
On the table,
By the chair.
Addressed to,
Jeanie Loki.
My just out,
Of college,
Intern,
Half my age.
Monday,
At work,
Was going to be,
Well,
Interesting.
After the office party.
I’d drunk,
More than I should have.
