The Magic of Marina

- The Magic of Marina -
Based on some of my past-life memories…

Fairest Marina, art thou not in all truth a nymph most rare,
With skin as white as some compare the purest of pearls…
Starlight glistening ever in the tresses of thy long silvery hair,
Thy voice so filled with laughter as of innocent young girls…
Oh canst thou hear the maidens who art laughing with thee,
Angels come from Heaven simply to make thy face smile?
There, a dryad peers from behind her tallest sacred tree,
To grant thee her kingdom's blessings for but a little while!
Sweet Marina, all of Athens wouldst bow before thy grace,
For how like unto glorious Athena herself is thy fine form…
I see the beauty of the goddess in the perfection of thy face,
Serene and peaceful art thou, compassionate and warm.
Was it my voice alone that didst pronounce thee as divine?
Nay, that honor was no mere fancy born of wanton love…
Rather, such divinity was always most well and truly thy!
As surely as if it were thus proclaimed: by the gods above.
I have many times spied thee playing upon thy golden lyre,
Charming even the playful spirits of the very earth and sky.
I hath heard thee singing softly in passionate tongues of fire,
Thy music: like birdsong echoing through the mountains high.
The birds themselves do descend to watch thee weave thy spell,
In which, most willingly, I have been by enchantment caught.
I care not if thy power doth come from Heaven or of Hell,
Thou art surely the goddess that my heart hath ever sought!
Thy eyes do glisten darkly as doth the night's starry void,
I stand powerless before thy beautiful and hypnotic stare…
I cannot avert my sight, nor canst I long even hope avoid,
The sparkle: of those two precious jewels beyond compare.
Let me bathe in thy radiance, oh fair Marina, ever young,
For I hath not beheld such a living wonder as I do now…
Ask me not to describe it in manner of clumsy mortal tongue,
For I do doubt that I wouldst even remotely know how!
The springtime scents of sweet flowers glowing in bloom,
Across the grassy fields where silly sprites do so oft play…
The seductive embrace of midnight shadows and of gloom,
Where secretive spirits hide their passions from bright day.
I need not hide my passions from thee, oh my snowy queen,
For thou dost share in every: rapture of my soul's hot desire.
Thou dost play well, the succubus that haunts my darkest dreams,
Making of our most joyful lover's bed, an all-consuming pyre.
As mine hungry lust daily devours of thy womanly charms,
I find a hunger in thee that so: surpasses even of mine own…
I long ever to be consumed in the heat of thy beloved arms,
My ivory goddess, the pale fire that warms my very bones!
If pale death be a maiden and thou art in reality she incarnate,
Then gladly wouldst I lay my life before thy marble white feet!
So like a flawless living statue depicting my soul's very mate,
Thou art the most exquisite lady that I shall ever in life meet…
In this age and this time, thou hast not a single earthly peer,
Thou hast touched my heart beyond countless daughters of man.
Thou art a vision beyond the sight of any magical mortal seer,
A sight so brilliant, as no lesser spirit may, it's light, withstand.
But no lesser spirits of the world art ever such spirits as art we,
Immortal like unto the gods, and undying in our divine glory…
There art not any greater glories that canst ever hope to be,
Than the bliss we do find at the heights of our mutual ecstasy.
Silvery Marina, Selene shines not ever near as sweetly bright,
As thee, mine eternal siren, thou who art Diana's own lovely twin.
Thou art the embodiment of my every most forbidden delight,
My skillful partner in many a delicious and ever so fleshly sin…
Not evil, however, in the eyes of the goddesses of the night,
Who grant us their blessings, for we are their own dark kin!
