Bound By Silence

She was such a beautiful girl
Young, free and so full of life
Lit up every soul whose path she crossed
Everyone gravitated to her

Looks of a Homecoming Queen
Personality was a mix of Lucy and Mae West
She could be quite goofy at times
Then surprise you by how ballsy she could be

Meeting him changed all that
For her it was love at first sight
This handsome older man.....
Stole her heart

Hiding his true personality
Until he knew she was his
What an actor he was
Face of a God, heart of Satan

His preferred form of comminication
Was a swift slap to the floor
Ruining the smile that so many craved
That didn't matter though,  they were denied access

That gregarious breathe of fresh air
Was slowly fading away
Silenced by the one she loved
No sunshine remaining in her world

Just the the cloud of him hovering
Waiting to discipline her once more
For daring to raise her head in public
Or simply not doing what he wants fast enough

Friends tried to reach out
Trying to save her
Instead witnessed a death
Their former class clown had changed

Her outspoken and cheerful personality gone
No more jokes or smiles to share
All that was left behind
Was a heartbroken mime

One lesson that's hard to grasp
No matter what the actions of others are
No man or woman will ever leave
Til they reach their own personal breaking point
