Subservience No More
I find myself humbly confined by weak impulses
My distress is aroused by a propensity to fear
Motives drown in a landscape of insecurities
I am drawn to the torment that houses this affliction
Faltering apprehensions sustain my reluctance,
As if incentives felt indisposed in their disbelief
Resolutions sing the praises of self-fulfillment,
As humility hears the whispers of my resignation
Can I persuade my tenacity to put an end to my dismay?
Persistence feeds the hunger that weakens mistrust
Resilience never forfeits the drive of its disposition
My insistent will welcomes the right to its dominion
No more will I call this subservient state my home
My distress is aroused by a propensity to fear
Motives drown in a landscape of insecurities
I am drawn to the torment that houses this affliction
Faltering apprehensions sustain my reluctance,
As if incentives felt indisposed in their disbelief
Resolutions sing the praises of self-fulfillment,
As humility hears the whispers of my resignation
Can I persuade my tenacity to put an end to my dismay?
Persistence feeds the hunger that weakens mistrust
Resilience never forfeits the drive of its disposition
My insistent will welcomes the right to its dominion
No more will I call this subservient state my home
