A Fool's Delight

Why are these seven called deadly?
They only bring death to the static and mundane.
Last week was the best week of my life;
Committing these sins did not make me insane.

On Sunday, I unleashed my unrighteous wrath:
Vengeance upon all! I got the last laugh.
Monday, I cheated on some business deals,
Made money I didn't need to satiate my greed.

Tuesday came in with no work or thought,
Accomplished nothing being a slave to sloth.
Wednesday, I strutted about as a king on high;
Feeling sure of myself with an over-inflated sense of pride.

Then Thursday appeared, my favorite of days.
I fulfilled my basest lusts in every unimaginable way.
Friday gave me focus for my next deviant feats,
As I plotted through envy to gain all that I see.

Saturday, the original day of rest,
Surfaced with the mandate to eat, enjoy, and excite myself.
Becoming subject to the demanding whims of glutton,
Sitting around with the remote watching nothin'.

Reveling in my week's selfish plight, basking in a fool's delight.
