Memories Of My First Heartache
She was...
Beautiful...
Like an abstract piece
of art....
Standing in the frame of her door
Poingnant..with demure
Traces of saddness
outlining her silhouette
Hair flowing over one shoulder
as she stood...stoic and strong
She reminded me of a Queen
with power that could simply
be weilded through her eyes...
How my heart broke for her...
As her husband pulled up in
the driveway... with me
His Illegitimate child...
The pain in her eyes
was palpable...
My Father held my hand
and said this... Is my Wife
Yet... she was never gonna be my Mother
So destined to share this man
Is what we the women involved had to do
Me.. My Mother,... and this Broken Woman
As she stepped off the porch...
and looked at me with disgust...and angst
I realized even then...
That we had all been betrayed...
Even recalling this memory...
washes me with a fresh heartache
But I guess your first heart ache
Will always...be remembered the most.
