Innocent Love

This is an eulogy
For the purist love
Emotions felt for something
That is so long gone

You were my first real love
A truly innocent moment
That too soon passed
Yet will forever be there

You were my first kiss
That day in the late summer rain
As we stood by the lake
In your arms as you carried me back

Looking through a box of memories
I saw you there today
Couldn't get you off of my mind
Til I took a moment to say good bye one final time
