Serpents

I've never been much for a standing ovation
But if you saw the eyes of this snake, you'd be out the door as well
To see the way he had sprung,
like a jack in the box,
could have startled your heart,
could have rattled your bones,
Could have ripped those arms off,
Left you bleeding alone,
So talking is frowned upon in these here parts,
leave your lips at the door
swallow some extra air to moisten them old ass lungs
If death is to despair, then I am at your mercy
If the end is here, then let it come quickly
I am lost in a crowd of people who look like me
I am fading fast, fading into the fog,
fading away from the light, being chased by fate
can't contain all this hate
flicking tongues, like a snake
