tomorrow is gone

You taste like cigarettes and bubble gum
we don’t lie here
the grass isn’t greener on the other side
and if it was I’d douse it in petrol
and dance in the flames of its destruction

You’re all wrong darlin’
whiskey smoke lingering on your lips
we don’t lie here
and I know this game
better than you

Youth will never be on your side
and I’m old in my bones
we don’t lie here
you’ll never know me at all
despite the sparks peeling back my flesh
for you to see the fucked inside

Tomorrow you’ll be gone
like all the other pretty girls
with pretty promises
we don’t lie here
I won’t miss you at all

The sky is an adventure
and you’re a puzzle piece
in the path I’m walking
we don’t lie here
the clouds aren’t limited
to my dreamings

It’s time to wake up

We’re all liars here
