This air of exhaustion
Clings to me like wet clothes
As I'm slumped here in the rain
Lightning flickers fast as time
Wind shoves insistently
Against my straining frame

Get on your knees and crawl

Pneumoniac jagged breaths
Like carbon monoxide perfume
Slowly... Slowly... I will fade
Abused by gnarly wooden fists
Chlorophyll gag between my jaws
Gravel bed where I have laid
