Understanding my Addictions
I don't have an addictive personality
But that hasn't stopped me
from plenty of destruction
For the first time in forever
I am seeing my triggers first hand
and battling my unspoken legacy of failure
Can't say how it will shake out
Blaming anyone other than me
is a cop out no longer acceptable
I'm on a road to recovery
From addictions nobody knows I have
I'll be a better person
Someone I want to be
Maybe for the first time
But that hasn't stopped me
from plenty of destruction
For the first time in forever
I am seeing my triggers first hand
and battling my unspoken legacy of failure
Can't say how it will shake out
Blaming anyone other than me
is a cop out no longer acceptable
I'm on a road to recovery
From addictions nobody knows I have
I'll be a better person
Someone I want to be
Maybe for the first time

how can one not fall in love with a piece written with such honesty [?]
as always, viewing the world through your eyes leads to deep introspection.

Read a book about alcohol and cocaine addiction.
Those are not my issues. But addiction is addiction and the triggers are mostly the same ...
Fascinating ....
Thx for your beautiful comment !

Re: Understanding my Addictions
I am right next to you I understand and fight so hard. I think it is a curse and a gift but most of all lonely. You can not loudly say it so you wonder is it hidden well enough by a serious face. Your mistaken for angry or being serious all the time. If you relax you might slip up and show your truth and scare the hell out of all the ones who dont get it.
Thats how it is for me anyway. Im following behind you lead the way,if you need a push I will push.

You have an excellent way of opening yourself up for all to see with such sincerity. It is obvious that these things are what you've learned in life and I soo appreciate that honesty. ...Always something to think about =)

Where have you been ?
I miss you around these parts ...
I think I used to be more fun. I seem to be in ultra introspection lately ...

The path is clear but the soul struggles to follow. I know this. Clarity is divine, only in the beginning, then the hard work begins. Stay strong PS.
