Flickers

under water in the air
in our minds inside is where
all we see and hear and touch
flickers like a flame that's much

like a shadow seen at night
by the Moon's reflected light
electricity flows unseen
from Sun to Moon to where we dream

here we are awake once more
from the sleep which came before
all our thoughts began to flow
rushing by, it is as though

we are mesmerized by spells
ideas seductive rhythmic swells
plunging in and sinking down
under water where we drown

until the space between each thought
proves to be the place we've sought
then we find ourselves set free
becoming who we are really
