Wrong Impressions

Living life in the fast lane
but pushing on the last gear
with fear in your eyes coz you all up in the mist
created by the pressure you press upon yourself
trying to do what others do coz they look cool.

Doing the happy dance coz they call you their friend
But come to think it, it all makes no sense.

You struggle to put together something to chew,
but once you get the opportunity to escape poverty
you lose your senses and blow up the chances of a good income,

night time, homecoming disaster
with a hand full of reward packed in bags of failure
as a result of worthless peer impression,
heartbeat losing pace,
your soul wish to jump out of your useless body
onto oncoming traffic,
you so wish to take back time and place
but no space is left in the past
you did enough the self-damage,

look on your right,
no one is left for you to call a friend.
look on your left,
no one is right by your side like a real friend
and now it all makes sense.

If you dont do it to impress yourself,
you end up doing it to impress others,
but you will never be happy.
