The Road.

She is a silken haired,
Blue eyed,
Flawless temptress,
Her fingernails clawing
At everything inside of me.

Her smooth voice,
Encourages me
Along this road,
Where flowers die along the sides,
As I walk past them.
Where a blue sky transforms
To a storm-split purple,
And the heavens start to open,
As I follow her,
Along the road of good intentions.

She tells me
It's the only way,
To follow her,
Is the last option,
To be her shadow,
To not leave her,
Because she's the only one
I have left.

The end of the road
Looks so appealing,
It's empty.
It's black.
There's nothing there.
No more demons,
No more self doubts,
No more misery,
All I have to do,
Is take her pale white hand,
And step off the road.

I turn around,
See if there's anyone chasing me,
Following me,
Begging me not to take
The road of no return.
There is no one.
She's right,
She's all I have left,
Her hand touches mine,
We step forwards,
Into nothing...
