Cold Blue Sky
The fledgling has learnt to fly
Watch how it dives
Head first into the winds of life
The clouds will be my bed
As I watch you soar far and high
Yesterday, you were in my nest
Do you remember the lullaby?
In my arms as you slept...
Nothing to you I could deny.
But I remember, clearly, when you wept
Unbidden, tears ran down your face
And I just stood by,
Crystal clear this memory in my heart I have kept
Like a scar I cannot hide
As I dance to the songs of my regrets
Perhaps one day, once again, our lost love we shall find
For now, this empty silence I accept
As the winds carry you above the blue sky
Promise me that you won't ever forget...
That you are and always will be mine
Watch how it dives
Head first into the winds of life
The clouds will be my bed
As I watch you soar far and high
Yesterday, you were in my nest
Do you remember the lullaby?
In my arms as you slept...
Nothing to you I could deny.
But I remember, clearly, when you wept
Unbidden, tears ran down your face
And I just stood by,
Crystal clear this memory in my heart I have kept
Like a scar I cannot hide
As I dance to the songs of my regrets
Perhaps one day, once again, our lost love we shall find
For now, this empty silence I accept
As the winds carry you above the blue sky
Promise me that you won't ever forget...
That you are and always will be mine
