the greed
and the weakness
that has brought about
this system
that we
our children
live in
is it not
our ignorance
and denial
that has allowed
despair
pain
and misery
to take root
deep within
where our fear of leaping
patrols our borders
where our democracy
of empathy
still waits
outside
in the rain

... This made me think part of the problem is we don't know how to solve most issues without sending in troops or bombing one another ... And when all else fails it's easier to turn on the television and watch the Kardashians ...
