"Mephistopheles by Name."

This malcontentedness
taking hold
This darkness swallowing
me whole

Now, all of the obligatory
consequences of all my
actions are coming upon me...

For me, they'll be no release
Only an eternity with my deeds,
no matter how wrong or how
right they may be

For me, there is no respite
Why would there be anyways, I
enjoy this life
I see no need for penance or to
feel contrite about my ways
considering I do them all day

I sit emancipated, cast-out and
wondering in the outer darkness
But do you think that I feel at all
disheartened...

Hell no, I'm discovering that I'm
not alone here but have companions
Others who have chosen there own
ways and decided to let there hearts
lead them, wherever that may be

Because my name is Mephistopheles -

The word may derive from the Hebrew mephitz,
meaning "distributor", and tophel, meaning "liar";
"tophel" is short for tophel shequer, the literal
translation of which is "falsehood plasterer".
[1] The name can also be a combination of three
Greek words: "me" as a negation, "phos" meaning
light, and "philis" meaning loving, making it mean
"not-light-loving", possibly parodying the Latin
"Lucifer" or "light-bearer".[2]
