The secret to henna
The secret to henna
There is a secret to henna
It's simple, really.
In order to survive
If you use henna
To dye
Your lovely locks
Which I do
For a variety of reasons
In all different seasons
That connection to ancient Egyptian queens
A deep sheen of red
Glinting in sunlight
Though my hair naturally has that already
Truthfully
Now that there are errant strands of grey
To see them turn deep crimson sans dangerous chemicals brings a smile to my lips
My hair is also incredibly healthy making me very happy
I was a natural before it was hip or the in thing eschewing relaxers because my scalp simply could not hang
Sooo
When I first used henna I had a friend who protested for she detested said it was the worst thing
I never saw that
Have been ecstatic and all that since I began my henna journey
Well, I made the mistake of interrupting my routine
See, I normally henna at night
And henna isn't like chemical dyes
It takes time, especially (to my mind) if it's done right. So, I just normally throw it on, wrap my head for the night, and sleep
Voila morning comes, rinse, all done, hair's gorgeous once again.
But, if done in the day, henna can be quite annoying and I think that was my friend's problem so here's what I say:
The secret to henna is always do it at night
That way, there's no messy plight to ruin your day
No way!
