Drown
These thoughts are pulling me down
Like an anchor, thrown into the ocean
Dragging me beneath the surface
Watching the light dim beneath the waves
The adrenaline kicking in, amidst confusion
Dilated eyes look for some sort of escape
But I know that fate is carelessly imminent
Accepting is half the problem isn’t it?
I open my mouth breathing in the sea
Inviting the water to fill my lungs
Ensuring every bit of air is replaced
Yet again letting myself drown in vain

There are times when we can't help but pity ourselves. I, myself is not an exclusion of the matter. Maybe it's the defect of the human brain. A blemish in our almost perfect creation.

I agree to some extent...but sometimes, what we drown in we can't help and sometimes our preferred help isn't around. This poem is so heartfelt in sorrow...but still love the ink...

Napnau- Very true, it is only human to be self-conscious. It is a gift and a curse. On one hand you can save yourself before it is too late, on the other hand it could lead to you further to demise depending on the severity of what your awareness is.
Sadsmiles- Thanks bro. You are right; this was not about self-pity. This is being thrust into something much larger and not being able to escape. These thoughts are beyond my ability of self-help and I am sinking further into darkness. Glad you enjoyed it!
