Open Statement - Robin Williams
Maybe he didn't want to be a funny man
Maybe his whole life was making others laugh
While he died inside
Maybe he saw it as a mission he couldn't
turn his back on
Was his mania his humor or the other way around ?
Maybe a lot of things
I will always remember him for Good Will Hunting
and Moscow on the Hudson and other dramatic roles
His humor made me uncomfortable though funny he was
Maybe it was to much work to be funny and the expectation thereof
He was a great person, not just good, he gave of himself
and then ran dry
That's what we should miss ...
Maybe his whole life was making others laugh
While he died inside
Maybe he saw it as a mission he couldn't
turn his back on

I thought he was funny, very funny
But very manic no doubt, I agree maybe
it was the other way around! You're right
he was a great person bro.

Interesting thoughts, Poet. Never looked at it like that.
If you have the time to check out this vid of him and his daughter, it's really sweet-

And then this is his daughters statement-

Will do JT
Thanks
These kinds of tragedies give us a time of reflection. We lost a good one here.

Love this! :)
The dramatic roles he played are my favorite!
Everyone has pain, I believe comedians have
a shit load.

Thx T
I agree with you. Comedians bear the load so the rest of us can cope.
An iconic genius lost tragically ...

l liked his humour but i too believe it 'was the other way round'...
last night they showed some interviews with him...
i wonder if sometimes he felt like a performing monkey...
then they played mrs doubtfire....
oh how i wished they would of played one of his dramatic roles, eg, good will hunting or dead poet's society...

Most comedians seem to be conditioned to do so to cover their pain. While we are laughing we never take the time to look inside

Fame and success doesn't always equal happiness. He was a great man and was very funny. He struggled with his private life - I read it was pretty crazy.
Nice message, P

I can barely handle my DUP fame
Best to be a known writer. You get good tables at restaurants and can still walk down the street relatively unknown.

I think you are so astute here, Granite, luv :-*. You've said it so very well with such articulacy. :-* So many of us are in such acute pain (and when I say us, I mean those of us with artistry flowing in our souls for it seems to hit us oh-so-hard and determinedly).
Thank you, thank you, thank you for writing this! :-* You honor him so well when all I could do was weep...

This came out of a very visceral reaction to his death. Upon hearing the news, there was just silence in my brain and then a collective WTF ?
He seemed to mostly suffer in silence. Had he openly weeped it might have been different. I don't know. We as the public always wants answers and maybe there aren't any ....
Thx for reading and commenting
