I wonder if Bukowski felt this way ?
I've gone to the well to often
The world is not as erotic as I pen it
It's the only way I know though
But I feel like I'm cheating
Because erotica is so easy to write
I need open spaces
Landscapes that breathe
Low humidity
Urban city wonder just before twilight
So, the journey continues
I'll probably see you there
I'm looking for my next challenge
I hope the words will flow this river too

sure, it's a good change of pace; write what you feel. Bukowski's notebooks are still being discovered & published long after his death. he led a hard life, & it continues to fascinate us.

Charles was a complicated fucker in some ways and so iconic and simple in another heartbeat.

why not a seduction of nature or even your nyc nights the scents that tantilize the senses
or the crys of the sirens in the city for some one in need or the smells of the city good and bad
use you senses close your eyes my heart and tell me what you hear what you feel what you smell what can your mouth taste
some help from passion to passion♥

I hear ya PoetSpeak ... sometimes the things around us become rudimentary if only because they're part of our daily routine ...
I didn't appreciate this until I spent some time with the DUP poet case28 while he was here in the city ... He said his sensors were exploding as we visited Harlem - Times Square & Alphabet City ... Seeing it through his eyes gave me a new appreciation for my world ...
If you can't escape to that open space ... Try taking someone who's never been to a favorite haunt of yours and watch it through their eyes ...
(We gotta grab a beer one night at one of the bars off Broadway & LaSalle once the fall sports season starts
Salud

Columbia has become a fascist regime with the way they're buying up chunks of Harlem and squeezing out long time residents and small businesses ...
... with that said No, don't work there. Live and teach in suburbia ... 35 minute drive from where I grew up Grants Projects - 75 LaSalle

I agree on Columbia. Know the Grant Houses off of LaSalle. I do a little biz with Columba, takes forever to get paid. They made one of my fav restaurants, La Floridita move ... You remember that place on 126th and Bway ?

Yes I know La Floridita ... They had to move and so did the folks at one of my favorite rib joints - Dinosaur BBQ - fortunately for us they're both still in the area ... But some weren't as fortunate

True Dat
Never been to Dinosaur but used to go to La Floridita in the old location all the time. Been to the new location a few times. Much nicer but I liked the vibe better on Broadway.
