From Where Came the Night

Tell me what you know of the Night,
of the moons and stars and magnetic rain,
of the ambient explosion of a carbon 12 atom,
and from where and which direction it came;
tell me what you know of the Light.

Tell me what you know of the Rain,
anthropic discord in abundant atmosphere,
percipient molecules of a troposphere phase,
hydrotherapy in essence of Earth’s lovely grain;
tell me what you know of the Rain.

Tell me what you know of the Sea,
of St. Elmo’s presence on yonder tread waters,
ere Darwin’s resounding stillness of flame,
of a fire that’s burning that he couldn't set free;
tell me what you know of the Sea.

Tell me from where came the Light,
Beautification and Abundant order,
following guides through galvanized magnetospheres,
dimming distances unknowing the light is the rain,
following the ages the same and unknowing,
the sound of the light, or the stillness of flame;
unknowing from where the headwaters came,
the rejoicing of a heart, or the kindling of strife,
tell me, from where came the Night...
