envision it, octopus

actually,
eight legs,
we fry our fish fingers
in custard

the rainbows
dance without the rain
here

the flowers
smile at you
and never die

envision it, octopus

the sky full of
beads
and
raining bits of paper

don't go outside your door
you never know
what you might find

all the birds
are never seen
without a little hat

fireflies
fly
in
fire
but never
glow

moths are drawn to
darkness

bullets cannot hit
my bubble
words
cannot hurt minds

physical wounds
bleed
butterflies

envision it, octopus

no taunting nicknames
no shame
yet
where would the humans be,
octopus?

they cannot live
in imagination
without living
in a madhouse

goodbye,
humans

you cannot handle
an
octopus
