The Barbarian and The Serpent's Heart

Riding forth on desert sands with the warm breeze at his back
A thief when need, but a killer at heart with no choice but to attack
They found the heart of the crystal serpent in musty tombs
Shone the path to the crypt bu the waning light of the moon

This barren land holds a curse, terrible sorcery
In the shadows, no on sees
Blood dipped obsidian blades
Woven spells upon the altars will black out the days

For the serpent’s heart
All will come
To claim the prize

Snake-men in druid’s robes enchanting with their forked tongues
The thickening fog, green with poison, congealing with their tones
As the crystal serpent coils, eyes open, it sees all
Snake-priest dragging a virgin to the pit for the consuming maw

For the serpent’s heart
He will come
To claim the prize

With a heavy sword he cuts through the shadows and walls
The serpent men kneel and crawl
But in him, there’s no mercy
His hacks and slices draws a beautiful masterpiece

Lo, the serpent’s heart
He will rise
To claim his prize

The great wyrm and the barbarian face off at last
Battle roars and the pounding earth, they collide and lightning crash
The crystal teeth alight with fire to burn the world
Then spins, in triumph, hoping to see his enemy scorched

Hold, the serpent’s heart
He has come
To claim his prize

Avoided the great inferno, he is still alive
From his perch, looked to the skies
Gathered will and leaped thru the dark
And with a swing of his blade, he took the serpent’s heart

A barbarian king with his kingdom paved in blood
Has brought his clan into the world and out of the mud
A breed of man forged in suffering know what they are for
To hold the ax, sword and spear in times of total war
