Mutation

A mutation you might say
I walk this darkness without delay
To see where this new road may lead
Past the enflamed moon as it bleeds
The tingle remains of this feat
From this thing lost so complete
Serenity from worry and doubt
Neither pain nor sorrow
For me to speak about
An indifference to the norm
As though I have been reborn
An altered view from shaded eyes
A perspective outside myself
I don’t miss the absence of this thing lost
It wasn’t worth a damn thing
Not a damn thing
