What am i?
I glance in the mirror what do I see,
There is a stranger looking at me
The daughter, the wife, the mother,
The carer, the worker, the lover
But
Who am I?
I can’t seem to find out
Filled with uncertainty and self doubt
Not the confident girl I recall
Not the assertive woman standing tall.
but
Where am I?
At a point when I need to change
A stilted life to rearrange
To find the girl with a smile on her face
A new life to embrace.
But
What will I do?
Change my image, I think
To put in the missing link
To invent a new me
Someone I really want to be.
I glance in the mirror what do I see,
There is a stranger looking at me
The daughter, the wife, the mother,
The carer, the worker, the lover
But
Who am I?
I can’t seem to find out
Filled with uncertainty and self doubt
Not the confident girl I recall
Not the assertive woman standing tall.
but
Where am I?
At a point when I need to change
A stilted life to rearrange
To find the girl with a smile on her face
A new life to embrace.
But
What will I do?
Change my image, I think
To put in the missing link
To invent a new me
Someone I really want to be.
