Their eyes meet across the blank space
A moment in time and space
Transfixed, unable to avert her gaze
Pulse fast, heart ablaze.

She reaches out to touch his hand
Impromptu, unplanned
She stands still, thoughts whirling in her head
Not speaking words unsaid
This dark secret to hold
