The Sex Revolution
(From "McLuhan's Skull in Tercets")
(Inspired by the extraordinary Portuguese poet, Celino)

From periods of copular industrialization to the more dramatic
"digital revolution" there have been prophetic pronouncements
of the change in our very notions of sex

Such change was deemed profound because the Ancient Craft of Sex
were supposedly forged in times different from the present by men
whose power upon sex was insignificant in comparison with ours

So the female body marches into this euphoria of freedom and power
under digital capitalism unaware of the relegation of sexual autonomy
to the tastes of their male feudal masters

Artists and poets are deployed as Cold War intellectuals to present
a convincing image of the U.S. as a free society opposed
to the regimented communist bloc

The egalitarian imperatives in sex are deployed for conservative
phallic ends neutralized by the dominant male pimp into
a tool for appreciating feminist activation
