Come find me in the dark
under the neon lights
I’ll be waiting there for you
I’ve been dreaming of your kiss
since before I saw your face
waiting for you to reach in
and give a heartbeat to my soul
because I lack the direction
all my passion has to offer
my lips blindly parted
finding nothing but air
and broken dreams
Come find me in the dark
under the neon lights
I’ll be waiting there for you
with the hopes and promises
of the lonely hearts parade
Take my face between your hands
linger close against my closed eyes
kiss me alive
make me whole
reach inside and reignite my soul
Am I dreaming?
Or are you real?
I’m dying on the inside
running down dimly lit hallways
looking for a sign that marks
the way out or the way in
to life
So come find me in the dark

This is a poem of great hope. Waiting and desiring that love that's out there somewhere. A love that a lot of people never experience in their lives. This is awesome!

Thank you Devlin, you don't need to quote the whole thing. :) I'm glad that one small piece really resonated with you. I did change one word however, since you've commented, in that stanza. Restart is now reignite. I hope the small change makes it stronger. I liked restart when I wrote it, but reignite sits better with me.
