"Contrast"
The bride is adorned in flowing white
Not necessarily to symbolize purity
Blue is the shade for virgins
This colorless gown
Is more of a clean slate
A new beginning
First day in the rest of her expected
Happy-ever-after life
The groom is skinned in black

Ahh, katja, some gals do. And, rightfully so in my twisted view. :)
This, an observation of four years ago while attending the vows of a close friend and buddy.
In retrospect, both groom and bride should have been skinned in black with white horizontal stripes. They now appear as prisoners, locked away from happiness.

Yes, Sweetness, those were some of my thoughts on that special occasion.
Turns out, both are guilty of causing misery for the other. Typical.
Though, on that day my feelings were biased, favoring my buddy.

ms d, your observations and kind remarks are met with sincere gratitude.
"... depth of mind ...." Many will argue the contrary. :)
Regardless, your gracious words are humbly received and greatly appreciated.
Thank you, dear lady.
The history and meaning of wedding gowns and their colors were passed down from my maternal grandmother. She was a part-time wedding planner, way back when. :)
I'm certain she thought I was never listening, but I was, I do, and I will. :)
The history is a bit interesting, huh? :)
