Morningstar: Purity Corrupted
Daylight shines with holy intent
On the paradise, promised
In the Garden of Eden
Pheromone incense, birdsong lament
Under shaded limbs, caress
And out come the heathens
On this eve with Eve baring witness to a new day
The dawn of the time when man follows their God’s way
Hope and truth showcase the mystery of this new world
Frolicking in shepherd’s groves with their flags unfurled
What is your wish
Joys of the flesh?
Enter the serpent
And his forked tongue
The twisting and turning
Yearning and the burning
He will show the way
To utter delights
A new light on day
Taken to new heights
What devils await thrice twixt between them
As they lay together with storm clouds overhead?
Lustful moaning drowns out the other sounds
And cancels out the paradise Disney-esque shroud
Even as Eve bit the flesh of poison
And tasted the sweetness of her treason
She grunted in throes as she took him
The joys, the thrill, the splendors of black sin
What is your wish
Sins of the flesh?
I watch from up high in the midst of God’s paradise
I did nothing but give her a gentle push to thrive
Opening her eyes to fine splendors in this new world
Fornication in shepherd’s groves, the flags unfurled
What desires?
Sin of fire
This temptation
In the garden
Whispers in the vespers
Sinister listeners
And I shall hear them
All in their prayers
I’ve taken from Him
From priests to slayers
A devil awaits thrice twixt inside them
As they smear the Lord’s name in storm clouds overhead
Necromantic chanting will fill the air
And wither the Garden of Eden with despair
Because Eve was tempted with the juices
For she had grown tired of Adam’s abuses
We were never really without rust
In truth, there’s a devil in all of us

You asked for honest criticism but I will not give it to you. This is a brilliant, vivid and poignant write, Hades, a genuine take to a personal observation that does not need to be corrupted with negativity particularly from a poetress who pens such observations. Enjoyed, truly. Devlin.
