Morningstar: Carve Your Name

Storm clouds rumble overhead
Lamenting for the dead
Thirteen black candles flutter
As a cool breeze leaves a shudder
Alone and desolate
In the blaze of my wake
Empty voids where I sought her
Where is Faith from when
She was cast from the altar?

Staring into the storm’s raging eye
Creature of wrath
A wall not moving
Stands in my path

There was a devil in paradise
Seeking the truth
With none forthcoming
Faith, where are you?

On a weathered oaken trunks
I will carve your name
So they can speak it freely
And carry it on the waves

Still I search forever, undaunted
On haunted shores
But no ghost whispers
In peace and war

When I dream of you I see angels
Flying with grace
Shining their halos
I see your face

On frozen mountain boulders
I will carve your name
So they can speak it freely
And carry it on the rain

The rain falls
Like tears at nightfall
Early mournings
Seem absolute
Without you here

When I sleep I feel you next to me
Loving and warm
But then I awake
Alone in storms

No matter what I have become I
Long for a clue
Tiny whisper
Just to hold you

Again

Upon the scorched earth desert
I will carve you name
Show they can speak it freely
And carry it on the flames
