"Opportunity"

        
Are you a DU member, or just a window shopper
Have you written anything, shared, made a contribution
Or do you hide behind the scenes, wondering, searching
Maybe you are always on the outside, looking in, alone
         
Do you limit your existence
to unfulfilled dreams and empty wishes
To settle for less than your capabilities
is to live and die dissatisfied
     
Be bold, declare your needs and fantasies, vocally or in ink
Make your presence known, let her or him ...
Hear or read the illicit words you wish to utter
See your body language dictate motive
Feel the emotion of soft whispers or the warmth of a gentle touch
Smell the essence of desire intended only for him or her
Taste your passion whether mild, exotic, wild or extreme

Timidity has no place at life's table spread with opportunity
Glowing, gleaming, glistening in every vessel
It grows putrid for all who neglect to claim it
Those who refuse to exercise their abilities face difficulty, disappointment

Fill your cup, saucer, bowl and plate until all spill over onto another
Opportunity knows no waste when shared with others

Do not simply search for a chair
Grab a fucking seat, claim your space
Stand on the damn table, if you so choose
Care and share with confidence

Opportunities typically appear but once
Participate in life's banquet

Or not

You can continue being a negative leech
Sucking the enjoyment from your life and those around you
Attempting to bully and pull everyone under the table
Where you are content to live and dine
