Emerging

She peers out windows of her self-imposed cell
Quietly observing, endlessly contemplating,
Appearance may reflect reserved and frail
The warrior inside fact or fiction slaying
Her skin is fragile but her spirit strong
Evil demons that prick have seen her bleed
Her smile so generous to hide what’s wrong
Out of reach, but unwilling to dismiss a need
Giving to a limit, reservations to be heart touched
For the scars she bears have made her scared
Inside she secretly wishes for so very much
The sweet release of having someone to lay herself bare
with the moon rising once again, bringing its luminous glow;
and the darkness of night whispering strength on heated skin.
Wishing to feel free in all her glory to just let herself go
Until then, she’ll remain quietly waiting…for her true self to emerge again.
