I Will Now Descend

When one lies, he fuels the raging burn,
But when one cries, they only slow it to watch and turn,

These foolish words I cannot stand to read,
Nor these foolish lives I will bear to reap,

If one cannot follow,
Is he not the shepherd?
Or has he murdered his sheep in blind rage,
The human nature we all call emotion,

If pride you cannot swallow,
Then you do not deserve a herd.
You will be the one who is now locked and caged,
And that is what we call mortal life set in motion.

If we cease to guard our fears,
Then those will come to take pressure of,
But then we try hide our tears,
After all, there is no one to show love,

Though death stays strong an end,
Life holds no better beginning,
And if we learn to stop our ascend,
No longer our wings begin stinging,

What I take today is my life,
Not of physical or feasible appearance,
But what I take today is my life,
Of emotion and bearing in surveillance.

I will now descend.
