Man At War
I wish for one little piece of peace
Something to help me breathe
No matter how far I reach
I cannot stand from my knees
I, a man at war
With myself
And everyone else
The world is my field
To battle
‘Til all is settled
I will take from each a little piece
Leave your foundations down
Underneath the swinging trees
You’ll be planted six feet down
I will leech from you all, one of each
Just like others, just like you
From rapists to men that preach
Then show you exposed and true
I, a man at war
With myself
And everyone else
Standing over you
I’m broken
Give you this token
You should have walked away
To bullshit me another day
It’s too late, little punk
Fuck you, your time is up
I will now teach this final screech
Stay one step before the curve
I rise for one last reach
And expose you like a nerve
I, a man at war
With myself
And no one else
Standing on bodies
Are bleeding
No longing screaming
Something to help me breathe
No matter how far I reach
I cannot stand from my knees
I, a man at war
With myself
And everyone else
The world is my field
To battle
‘Til all is settled
I will take from each a little piece
Leave your foundations down
Underneath the swinging trees
You’ll be planted six feet down
I will leech from you all, one of each
Just like others, just like you
From rapists to men that preach
Then show you exposed and true
I, a man at war
With myself
And everyone else
Standing over you
I’m broken
Give you this token
You should have walked away
To bullshit me another day
It’s too late, little punk
Fuck you, your time is up
I will now teach this final screech
Stay one step before the curve
I rise for one last reach
And expose you like a nerve
I, a man at war
With myself
And no one else
Standing on bodies
Are bleeding
No longing screaming
