POETIC JUSTICE

There are many forms of poetry
Confused poet does not know
How and where to begin
To dissect his unwary thoughts
Does he open his mind to the world
Or keep the metaphors to himself?

Beautiful words of love and wisdom—
The best adjectives throughout his kingdom
In superlative forms are intricately woven
Does anyone think poetic justice is given
Signed only with thumbmark nicely whorled,
As injustices thrive in this chaotic world?

Some poets believe chaos is real poetry
While others stick to strict pedantry
I say let your words flow like water
Raw and unfiltered, it doesn’t matter
Just as long as you have given
Poetic justice to your subject matter.

We are left with wide, open mouths
When poets bleed their hearts out
Raging fires melt us from within,
As we can relate from their unthinkable sins
Who among us is not a sinner, should be the winner
And not those who think—poetry must always rhyme.

It’s hard to judge one’s thoughts,
Motivations and inspirations
The beauty of the poem
Lies within the poem itself
We may have different interpretations
Let the readers be the judge!
