grasping all things within their reach
on purpose.. with a purpose
what’s laid out is to learn & teach
doing away with any & all impediments
those negative elements
eager to dispose of them quickly
failing to do so makes ‘em feel sickly
yet they have no fear
their truth; always clear
succeeding in doing all that they can  
rarely questioning how
what matters is when

everyday legends employ methods
the kind fostered by their confidence
where every moment is taken into account
not weighted down nor focused on yesterday
knowing that yesterday; that
even they were someone else
one who needed to improve; to
pursue retaining their
groove

everyday legends, shy, sometimes sly
very studious when competing
they practice hard at winning, while
minimizing those acts that are self-defeating
this focus defines them as being themselves
strict devotees.. somewhat like Santa’s Elves
scrupulously working to make their deadline
knowing their happiness..
that it arises from handout time
this is their style; deeds rewarded
by the simplest smile

everyday legends, while
always giving
they claim life is for living
putting the work in.. setting out to achieve
doing it for us, the benefactors
in their skills we do believe
where what’s done is done with care, and
little is the fanfare.. everyday legends
they are people like you & me
except for going the extra..
doing so without a fee
just being.. the better beings
to increase what we need today
serious in their efforts
while making them look
like play.
