Dirty Mercy

Dirty Mercy
Nothing else matters when you need to clean your house
Rub at those curious spots furiously
see if you can get them all out
What's it all about
- the dirt, the grime, the blame
Shitty little things without names
that worked their way into the pysche' - it's alright, it's life!
And when we're hungry
we'll eat anything - just like Mikey
Like Ike see - start fighting
I'll lay it down where you like
but don't like lying
Careless whispers
when words can't size up my 'sighs'
When there's no more to say
then - I'll grease lightning
I'm bottled and clear
Hoppy and bitter
wash beer down with barstools
and babysitters
Then the moon shines bright on those dirty fears
Busting through doors
like Johnny on Jack when I'm here;
rough and black, everclear
Or crashin'
through the kitchen like the kool-aid man, oh yeah!
Have cup, will drink
Came here to make
- shit
- stink!
While you sit over there
with your lips and your prayers
Because we've come too far now to stop - I'm a rock
and don't care
Caught you lookin' because you smelled what was cookin'
Reachin' for the spike like you was Brooklyn - or just trying to get back there
Juicy and delicious - sheered when shared
Too big to catch or contain with phrases or convalescence
- the dirt, the grime, the blame
Limp and flat
no effervescence - patience or reference - should be given to that crying game
What is it - say it!
Wondering if there's a difference between mercy and weakness
Or if they are one and the same
And if it's by any other.....
then what's the value in a name
