Keep On

 2:27 a.m.
Its dark and cold.
He's out there walking towards his home.
He's out there thinking of the unknown.
He's lonely but his heart is gold.
Soon comes a story only hes told.
A sadness starts to take a hold......

2:43 a.m.
He's imagining what life could be like if he took more chances,
reading by candle light the thoughts of strangers glances,
provoking mixed emotions guessing
which is fastest.....
He sees his front door through the lenses of his glasses.

3:18 a.m.
Building a warm fire watching kindling start to burn,
there is a special something that his aging wants to learn.
Purpose must reveal itself before it starts to hurt.
What's here for me that has to be my calling in this world?

5:06 a.m.
Soon the sun will surely rise
And he will climb in bed.
He disappears when it is night
to seek out "why" again.
He borders near insanity when he dwells on where he's been,
reminding his emotions to rest, for now, instead.

7:39 p.m.
The barking from a dog nearby disturbed the dreams to wake his mind...
Again he readies himself to try
to conquer questions he can't deny.
On a journey that takes a million years ...
No man could stand against all fears.
The collection of many lives now passed ,
shows knowledge behind your mothers tears...at last.

8:22 p.m.
Finally down at the rivers edge,
as the bridge above hides his shadow too,
remembering the pain of his lost love ,
triggers bad ideas he should not do.
As appealing as his disappearance feels, the fear within that answer, steals,
Confidence:
Away from his lonely life, assuring him he will be alright.
Impressing upon him to find the light....
among the darkest shadows.

Where he walks to in the night,
he is the keeper of someones hope .
For the weary ones that are alone-
for the brave ones he is yet to know.
