I Cannot Speak
I cannot speak
Of winter’s breach
Of blossomed ghosts
In ballads neath
Or form the flowers
In fallen spray
In lumbered ease
With burning rage
Or take you back
Into the day
My soul was split
In darning pain
Where came to life
The suffered thorns
In rust of memories,
The echoes warn
The panthering limbs
In shadows tarry
Hands palm up
This fate will carry
My heart continues
A resounding quest
Breathing slowly
Towards its death
It carries the stillness
Of what’s beneath
The winter’s breach
I cannot speak
Of winter’s breach
Of blossomed ghosts
In ballads neath
Or form the flowers
In fallen spray
In lumbered ease
With burning rage
Or take you back
Into the day
My soul was split
In darning pain
Where came to life
The suffered thorns
In rust of memories,
The echoes warn
The panthering limbs
In shadows tarry
Hands palm up
This fate will carry
My heart continues
A resounding quest
Breathing slowly
Towards its death
It carries the stillness
Of what’s beneath
The winter’s breach
I cannot speak
