My Undoing

She is broken in all the right places,
Lies to herself in all the wrong ways,
She brings soft light to my dark nights,
Clouds of blackness into my days,

Adorn with the halo of angels,
Held up with the horns of demons,
She is stubborn in all the wrong places,
She is wrong for all the right reasons,

She’s lost in all the wrong nightmares,
Can’t find the way back into her own dreams,
The madness is now setting in,
Mind and body tearing at the seams,

In attempt to ease the torment,
 Her wounds are self-inflicted
As she tries to shut out the voices,
 Thoughts and feelings are contradicted,

She is blind to her real beauty,
She wishes on all the wrong stars,
Her hope is shrouded in doubt,
Held together by stitches and scars,

 She can’t shake her faith,
No matter how hard she tries,
No matter how bad it hurts,
No matter how deep she cries,

She is crooked in all the right places
Is acquitted of all the wrong crimes,
But still she is sitting the sentence,
In the prison inside of her mind,

She fights in all the right battles,
She is righteous because of her cause,
She is weak because of her strengths,
She is perfect because of her flaws,

 A bird with one wing,
 Who misses the sky,
 Although she doubts herself,
 I know she will fly,

 High she will rise,
 Far will she soar,
 Her power inside,
 She’ll doubt nevermore.
