To My Surprise
You were like an untouched diamond still taking shape
Bearing great pressure is what make you stronger than great
but from the looks of you
Everyone thought you were just another
stone in the road tossed to the side
But to my surprise
I stumbled cross your path
Short of a peasant girl and the tossed stone crossed paths
I saw your beauty from across the path
There was a dim spark I just had to have
But to my surprise
More valuable than gold your spark for told
Beauty in my eye of the stone I hold
More precious than the stories told
You were untouched more elusive than a rose
As your layers shed
Your spark became bright enough for people to see
that there is something there
Even the ones that tossed you to the side stopped and stared
Now more and more layers began to shed
And your spark became too great for any eye to see
You over shined your light and you blinded me
Bearing great pressure is what make you stronger than great
but from the looks of you
Everyone thought you were just another
stone in the road tossed to the side
