God is dead
I want to die young
on stronger wings than these
torching the sky to kill the giants
because God is dead
and it’s time we use eternity
to light it up
You fight me to the red light
and we hit the end zone
in a conspiracy of faiths
because there is no road left to follow;
the only way out is down
so step into the light
and give up your ideas of ascension
Courage is a weapon and faith
the doorknocker of death;
it’s so beautiful, the precipice between us
fear and longing
denial and peace
our corpses scented in vanilla decay
I wanted to die young
on stronger wings than these
wings that refuse to fly
and bring the apocalypse to my soul
in all the fiery passion
faith taught me to deny
though God is dead
and men have become
the giants we fear
