Us, in Paradise
Us, at the Beach.
From the sun’s hues, two golden bodies, warming
Towering cliff, rocky outposts, surrounding
Angel blue skies, candy floss clouds, hovering
Sea breeze, white ocean waves, lapping
Floodlight of Mother Nature’s colours, contrasting
No souls seen, our samba in the sand, dancing
The euphoria of a new found heaven, inhaling
In this perfect moment, let us be, never-ending
Me, on the Shore.
Oblivious for a while, the sea’s horizon, watching
Then confusedly transfixed, eyes to water, searching
Fate with its own mind, your hidden depths, swirling
Turn my sand to glass, seabed rocks, cutting
Blurry visions, earth under my feet, gaping
Sounds close in, thump thud thunder heart, beating
In terror, despair, frenzied wails, drowning
Mouth open; sweat, sand, sea, shock, tasting
You, in Mid-air.
The chopper above, you on salvage rope, hanging
Limp, lost, lifeless, your heavenly form, dripping
Weeds, water, wonder, the sea’s devil, foaming
Choked dread, I look up, hyperventilating
Uniformed strangers surround, flying doors, closing
No-one else allowed, but, are you still, breathing
Wicked noises above and below, in my ears, trembling
With a faceless lady, barefooted from waves, running
Us, in a Strange Place.
Fluorescent lights, on a plastic table, you lying
With me beside, your clammy hand, I’m holding
Sand from hair, bruised swollen body, I'm cleaning
A kiss on cold lips; your eyes, I'm closing
A soundtrack of our love, to you, I'm singing
Unspoken truths, too little and late, I'm speaking
Your warmth, colour, presence, I see slipping.
Your Wonder, Your Love, My Love, I feel floating.
Me, on our Balcony.
With ripped clothes, matted hair, emptiness engulfing
At a starry night, which cradles crescent moon, I'm staring
From the sun’s hues, two golden bodies, warming
Towering cliff, rocky outposts, surrounding
Angel blue skies, candy floss clouds, hovering
Sea breeze, white ocean waves, lapping
Floodlight of Mother Nature’s colours, contrasting
No souls seen, our samba in the sand, dancing
